Meet Dylan Riley
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate
MA
Born and raised in Gastonia, NC, with his heart in Charlotte, NC, Dylan had an atypical path towards becoming a therapist. He took a five-year gap between high school and obtaining his bachelor's degree. During that time, he worked various jobs between retail management, construction, and drug manufacturing. He received his bachelor’s of science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2024, with a major in psychology and minor in film studies. He received his masters in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University in 2026. He gained his counseling experience at Davenport A+ Elementary School in Lenoir, NC.
He believes that all people, child or adult, have autonomy and deserve to explore that be in and out of session. Dylan specializes in working clients experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, transitions, and many issues across the mental health spectrum. With children, his work consists of evidence-based Child-Centered Play-Therapy, allowing the child to explore, learn, and grow as a result. With adults, his work consists of utilizing Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing approaches; all with a trauma-informed lens.
