Meet Darcy Lord-Evans
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate
Licensed School Counselor, MEd
Darcy Lord-Evans was born and raised in the Midwest and moved to Caldwell County with her family in 2006. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, and after raising her three daughters, returned to graduate school to pursue a new professional chapter. She pursued her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from Liberty University in 2022. Darcy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and a Licensed School Counselor.
Darcy works primarily with adults—both women and men—who are navigating life transitions, relationships, stress, anxiety, and the challenges that can come with different seasons of life. Although her private practice is primarily focused on adults, she is also open to working with children and adolescents when their needs are a good fit.
Darcy was drawn to the counseling profession because of its opportunity to consider the whole person—the connection between mind, body, and spirit. She believes that understanding what a person is experiencing requires looking beyond a single concern and considering the many factors that shape how we think, feel, relate to others, and move through life.
Darcy uses an eclectic approach to counseling, drawing on a variety of theories and therapeutic approaches depending on the needs and goals of the individual. Her work is informed by Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She believes therapy should provide a place to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and develop greater awareness of the thoughts, patterns, choices, and circumstances that may be affecting a person's life.
Having experienced the transitions that come with raising a family, changing careers, and beginning a new professional chapter later in life, Darcy understands that life rarely follows a perfectly predictable path. She believes people are capable of growth and change at every stage of life and that having a supportive, nonjudgmental person alongside you can make navigating those changes a little easier.
