A native of Caldwell County, Heather Taylor began her career at Wingate University where she obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology. Heather is dually licensed as a Professional School Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. She gained her therapeutic experience from school counseling, private practice, and school-based counseling settings.
Heather opened Bloom Counseling in 2023, having noticed a need for more availability in mental health resources in Caldwell County. Heather has experience counseling children, adolescents, and families on issues of depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, ADHD, parenting, adjustments/transitions, and other mental health concerns. She is a Certified Resiliency Educator and Certified Autism Specialist. She is trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Youth Mental Health First Aid. Heather takes a family-centered approach to involve working with parents on how to better support the whole child.

While Heather has experience working with children and adolescents, she also enjoys counseling women who experience anxiety and depression. Anxiety and depression can sometimes be a longtime struggle for clients, but other times it can be triggered by life transitions such as college, marriage, birth, or divorce.

In addition to her work with clients, Heather is an approved Clinical Supervisor in the state of North Carolina.
